HONESTY AS A BLESSING PRINCIPLE
God does not bless dishonesty {Proverbs 16:11} says, “The Lord demands fairness in every business deal”. That includes wages, salaries, taxes, and business scales. If you want God’s blessing on your finances, you must be honest about them.
Many of us are doing business for example retail business but we are not honest with our weighing scales. Let us see what the Lord says, “dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is His delight {Proverbs 11:1}. What happens? Since the devil is the father of liars and dishonesty it will mean he is a coworker with you and Satan cannot chase Satan.
Proverbs 20:17, Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward, his mouth will be full of gravel. This simply means the devil will not show you the gravel bit of it but afterward, it will manifest.
Deuteronomy 25:16, All who cheat with dishonest weights and measures are detestable to the Lord your God. But our Lord Jesus Christ posed a question, what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul Matthew 16:26? This is a training ground, it’s a school to train us for heaven.
Proverbs 16:11, the Lord demands fairness in every business deal. Ephesians 4:25, Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. I have realized so many shops in (kikubo) buying stock on deals from the off-roader's at cheap prices
Here is the lord’s warning, Leviticus 19:35, do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight, or volume. Woe to you, destroyer, you who have not been destroyed! When you stop destroying, you will be destroyed {Isaiah 33:1-2} meaning the day you will stop is the day they will begin on you.
The Lord said to Joshua, “Stand up! What are you doing down on your face? Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions {Joshua 7:10-11} if you read this well you will find that Joshua was going to the war with the children of Israel as the leader and he was told not to get anything from the war area into their houses but a man called Achan did what pleased him and he stole, they lost the battle as you might be losing battles because of the stole stock.
Furthermore, some of us have failed to test the but we keep on stealing him, Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty. “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me “Your family is under a curse because of the tithes and offerings {Malachi 3:7-11}”.
See what he says, bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Who has ever got a chance to test the lord? Today is your day for a financial breakthrough in your business.
Another amazing phrase, I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. Maybe you do not know what this means? Your pest could be that:
1, Chronicle disease which spends your money
2, It could be those losses you make in your business
3. It could be those thieves who rob your money, you earn 2 million but the moment you get you, salary children, at home get sick, someone passes away thus spending it. But the lord is saying test him, he will protect you, no one will die younger in your house {Malachi 3:10-11}”
Let me show you, it’s not your effort to be rich. But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. For him is trustworthy, he keeps his covenant. What about you? Deuteronomy 8:18-19
The profit that is made dishonestly brings trouble with it. Why? If you rip off people, other people are going to rip you off. If you cheat others, you’re going to get cheated in life. What you sow, you will reap {Galatians 6:7}
Luke 16:10, One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. Do you want to have and more!! Be trustworthy in small things, in the little capital you have, with the little profits you get.
This decision to be honest in your finances is not something you make once for all. It’s a daily decision. You’re going to be tempted to lie. Sometimes honesty costs you. Have you learned that? Sometimes it costs, to tell the truth.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place. {Psalm 51: 1, 6} Prayer is not a performance. It is not an attempt to impress God. Prayer is honest communication.
