KNOW WHO TO FIGHT OR KNOW WHO YOUR ENEMY IS!!!
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. “Meaning your struggle is not with Denis, Peter, Joseph who has flesh and blood but the dark spiritual forces which are unseen with naked eyes Ephesians 6:10-12.” Mathew 16:22-23 can explain this better.
Satan is the great adversary of the church, remember the church begins in you. He clearly opposes the will of God to be accomplished on the earth. For the record, the way God chooses to accomplish His will on earth is through people like you. God works through you (by his choice and design) to fulfill his plan. As you do his will, he accomplishes his plan on the earth. Satan knows this.
This brings us to a statement Jesus made in Matthew: “Get behind me Satan.” This is a very interesting statement because he was speaking to Peter at the time but telling someone who was inside peter because he would have said get away peter from me but the phrase was,” get behind me Satan. That alone should lead you to ask the question, what is the meaning and context of Matthew 16:23, Get behind me Satan?
Who was Jesus’s Enemy?
What had he come to do?
One thing I know for sure or my understanding of this verse is that Satan’s agenda does not line up with God’s agenda. It didn’t then and it doesn’t now. However, as we look closer, I believe some could have passed the judgment to peter but because Jesus knew that our enemy is not blood and fresh he fought a good fight.
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses {1 Timothy 6:12}, let me explain this with the phrase Jesus made in {Luke 10:18-19}, He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you,” Be mindful He saw Satan falling not your neighbor, not your business partner.”
Here comes this phrase,” I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you,” he gave us the power to trample on Satan, not our neighbors, not our business partners, maybe I did not see well where was it written that your enemy is Denis, Joseph, Simon but recall how many God’s children have you uprooted, have you killed or broken due to lack of knowledge?
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour {1 Peter 5:8}, actually he was reminding us that the guy is around, see more here, One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” {Job 1:6-7}, “He explained it well your adversary the devil:
Not Denis
Not James
Not Annet, helps the man Annet, to overcome the devil that is behind him but don't fight each other, it’s written, And Jesus knew their thoughts and said unto them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand {Mathew 12:25-28}. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you {Romans 16:20}, he is not going to crush your co-wife either your neighbor but he is going to crush Satan.
Do not be blindfold, you would have worn the battle but you do not know who to fight, in their case the or god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God {2 Corinthians 4:4}, if the unbeliever where blinded what about you? Don’t you see that, that is not your neighbor but someone is behind him!!
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?” {Zechariah 3:1-2}, the accuser is waiting for you.
If you’re to win him stick to the word, it was written, when anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path, {Matthew 13:19}
See how Jesus managed him with the word, the tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written, “He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”
Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’]” Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” The devil had come to stop Jesus from fulfilling the mission.
You need the word of the knowledge of the kingdom of God, “we see Jesus the second time saying away Satan,” let us repent we have killed many, we have judged many, we have uprooted many.
Its written, Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point, you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter {2 Corinthians 7:10-11} let us make sure that justice is done and if you caught up like me please confess and repent.
God bless you.
