MARRIAGE NORMS 

Are you searching or planning to get married?

Never depart from the principles below!!!!!!!!

Everyone you marry has a weakness. Only God does not have a weakness. So if you focus on your spouse's weakness you can't get the best out of his/her strength. we see it here in {Galatians 6:1-2}, Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Everyone has a dark history. No one is an angel. When you get married or you want to get married stop digging into someone's past. What matters most is the present life of your partner. Old things have passed away. Forgive and forget. Focus on the present and the future. for Paul was a persecutor but when God called him he responded. But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being {Galatians 1:15-16}

Every marriage has its challenges. Marriage is not a bed of roses. Every good marriage has gone through its own test of blazing fire. True love proves in times of challenges.  Fight for your marriage. Make up your mind to stay with your spouse in times of need. Remember the vow for better for worse. In sickness and in health be there God said this because tests to marriage are health.

Those who will emerge victoriously will wear the white garment {Revelation 7:13-14 & Revelation 3:5}, Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever {1 Corinthians 9:23-25}. 

Every marriage has different levels of success. Don't compare your marriage with anyone else. We can never be equal. Some will be far, some behind. To avoid marriage stresses, be patient, work hard and with time your marriage dreams shall come true. there reasons for delayed success. it took Abraham 100 years to have a child Genesis 17:4-7}

To get married is declaring war. When you get married you must declare war against enemies of marriage. Some enemies of marriage are:

Ignorance
Prayerlessness
Unforgiveness
Third-party influence
Stubbornness
Lack of love
Rudeness
Laziness

Disrespect, Cheating / unfaithful to your spouse!! when king David fell in love with Uriah's wife his next plan was to kill Uriah see it herein {2 Samuel 11:1-12}. Be ready to fight to maintain your marriage zone.

There is no perfect marriage. There is no ready-made marriage. Marriage is hard work. Volunteer yourself to work daily on it. Marriage is like a car that needs proper maintenance and proper service. If this is not done it will break down somewhere exposing the owner to danger or some unhealthy circumstances. Let us not be careless about our marriages.

I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them {Ecclesiastes 9:11-12}, "Marriage is not for the perfect people keep moving."

God cannot give you the complete person you desire. He gives you the person in the form of raw materials in order for you to mold the person that you desire. This can only be achieved through prayer, love, it's and Patience. its possible through love, for love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs {1 Corinthians 13:4-5}

Getting married is taking a huge risk. You cannot predict what will happen in the future.  Situations may change so leave room for adjustments. Husband can lose his good job or you may fail to have babies. All these require you to be prayerful otherwise you might divorce.

Marriage is not a contract. It is permanent,  That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh {Genesis 2:24-25}. It needs total commitment. Love is the glue that sticks the couple together. Divorce start in the mind and the devil feeds the mind. Never ever entertain thoughts of getting a divorce. Never threaten your spouse with divorce. Choose to remain married. God hates divorce.

Every marriage has a price to pay. Marriage is like a bank account. It is the money that you deposit that you withdraw. If you don't deposit love, peace, and care into your marriage, you are not a candidate for a blissful home.  Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves {Romans 12:9-10}.

Today let us pray for our marriages so that God will pave a way to go through all above in Jesus' name.
